Power outages and damage across Indiana

Strong overnight storms blew across central Indiana, USA and knocked out power supply. Perry Township on the south of Indianapolis was hit the hardest and left with more than5,000 IPL customers without power through the night.

Strong overnight storms blew across central Indiana, USA and knocked out power supply. Perry Township on the south of Indianapolis was hit the hardest and left with more than 5,000 IPL customers without power through the night.

The gusts were in excess of 60 mph in some areas where trees were knocked over throughout the region.

Power crews are working through the night to establish power knocked out by overnight storms that blew through central Indiana.

Power lines in Muncie were blown down due to the 75 mph wind and gusts bent trees which caused electrical transformers to blow in Castleton. A 70 mph wind was reported in Southport. In Edinburgh, many power outages were reported.
