Dominican Edenorte reported a replacement of a damaged substation transformer in Bonao, Dominican Republic, with a capacity of 28-37 MVA.
The replacement unit is a part of a 20 MVA mobile substation put to work recently, following the occurrence of thunderstorms in the area.
“Considering power constraint, the quality of service in the area and parts of Monsignor Nouel province, has been compromised and we had to extend the rotation of power cuts, especially during night hours,” explained the company in their press release.
Julio Cesar Correa, Edenorte manager recently stated that he held a meeting with the representatives of the company and the authorities to address the situation.
