Electricaribe upgrades Rio Sinu substation

Electricaribe has completed the upgrade of the RĂ­o SinĂş substation, Colombia which will be operational from tomorrow. The upgrade consisted of installation of a new 45 MVA transformer, doubling the power and improving service quality. The work was completed with a 6 billion pesos investment.

Electricaribe has completed the upgrade of the Ri­o Sinu substation, Colombia which will be operational from tomorrow. The upgrade consisted of installation of a new 45 MVA transformer, doubling the power and improving service quality. The work was completed with a 6 billion pesos investment.

The new transformer will increase the capacity of the Rio Sinu substation and additionally give more reliability to the Pradera substation, because it comes in line with a new operation between the Rio Sinu and Pradera substations.

The parts of Monteri­a that will benefit from the project include: Alfonso Lopez, Buenavista , Cantaclaro , El Prado, La Campina , La Granja, P-5, Pastrana Borrero, Policarpa, Edmundo Lopez 1, Galilea, The Araujos, Mogambo, Panzenu, Robinson Pitalua, Chuchurubi, Costa de Oro, El Eden, La Ceiba, La Julia, Los Álamos, Pasatiempo, Risaralda and Urbina.

Eder Buelvas Cuello, head of the Electricaribe Cordoba delegation, said that the work on Pradera circuits 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and Rio Sinu circuits 1, 2, 3 and 4, and lines 551 and 576 will interrupt the energy supply in Monteria for several hours tomorrow.
