The Cooperative of Public and Social Services Claromecó, Argentina presented a new transformer yesterday, requiring a significant investment of 1,300,000 pesos by the company. The new transformer will meet the growing local demand and ensure continuity of electrical service.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors Daniel Pícaro said that it is “a great joy to receive this new transformer. This is reassuring because it provides security in any situation. The employees suggested buying a new transformer two years ago and I value that because it came as a result of user feedback.”

The head of the technical office of the Cooperative, César Fuente, explained the features of the new transformer: It is a 5000 kVA, 32,835/13.86 kV power transformer. It has a dual role:  first, to meet the growing demand of the town, and secondly to ensure the continuity of service.

Source added that the transformer “has an underload switch, which keeps voltage levels within standards, despite the change in demand.

The arrival of the transformer is only the first part of the Cooperative project, as it now needs to be properly installed. Caesar Source commented that “this is the first stage of a comprehensive work called  ‘Large Power Transformer Station in Claromecó’.

The Cooperative will probably need to invest about extra 2 million pesos to complete the entire work.
