USA, Florida: Doble Engineering Company will host its twelfth annual Life of Transformer Seminar which begins today, the 3rd February in Lake Buena Vista. The Seminar will run through the 7th February and over 150 participants from utility, power and industrial organisations will share their power transformer knowledge.

Doble Engineering Company has trained over 5,500 professionals in the electric power industry since the Life of Transformer first started.

There is an increase in pressure to maintain uninterrupted power and rising demand on the assets such as transformers which must perform under extreme conditions. In addition, over 50% of electric power professionals will retire within the next five years, taking many years of experience with them. It is, therefore, crucial to teach the new generation of professionals about the management of critical health risks and the effective analysis of data in order to deliver safe and reliable power.

“Transformers are complex pieces of equipment and electric power professionals have to understand how to work with these critical assets from specifications through failure analysis. Each step in the lifecycle of a transformer requires careful management,” says David Zabetakis, president of Doble Engineering Company. “We think in-depth training, supported by practical information, is the best way to help professionals to do their jobs effectively. That’s why we work to provide tangible knowledge at every event we put on, including the Life of a Transformer Seminar.”

The Seminar will focus on:
•    Improving network performance and system reliability
•    Actionable, intelligent transformer management – understanding the data
•    Transformer condition assessment with laboratory diagnostics
•    How to adopt and deploy new, innovative technologies

Attendees will be able to share their concerns about commissioning or implementation of replacements with many leading manufacturers in the power transformer industry, such as GE Power, ABB and SPX Waukesha.

Doble will also host a day-long laboratory diagnostics seminar for power professionals who review oil analysis data to assess transformer conditions.

With nearly a century of providing industry-leading diagnostic and testing innovation, Doble Engineering Company’s solutions have the foundation of the most comprehensive database of historical test data, and provide unprecedented access to the tools, data and information in order to improve the reliability and efficiency of the power grid.
