ANDE implements programme to strengthen national grid

Paraguay: The National Electricity Administration (ANDE) has acquired the first 80 MVA three-phase transformer within the national grid improvement programme.

The transformer was acquired through the International Competitive Bidding Process for supply of single and three-phase transformers, according to the state reports. This investment was made within the programme worth $ 200 million to strengthen the national grid. The estimated cost of the transformer is just over $ 3 million. The equipment will be provided by WEG Equipamentos Electricos S.A..

Four 25 MVA single-phase transformers and five 30 MVA three-phase transformers have already been installed in the Capiatá and Lambaré stations. Moreover, 50 MVA transformer was installed in the Villa Hayes station.

The state announced in a statement, that four 40 MVA single-phase transformers will soon be acquired as well as a 80 MVA transformer for Salto del Guairá station.
