CG to assist in Paraguay grid expansion

Paraguay: Crompton Greaves (CG) signed a contract with the State Utility of Paraguay - Administracion Nacional de Electricidad (ANDE) for expansion of the country's 220 kV electricity network.

Paraguay: Crompton Greaves (CG) signed a contract with the State Utility of Paraguay – Administracion Nacional de Electricidad (ANDE) for expansion of the country’s 220 kV electricity network.

CG will supply 19 single and three-phase transformers amounting to a total of 683.3 MVA. The transformers will be manufactured in India and supplied in three lots and CG will also provide spare parts, supervision of installation and commissioning, and on-site training.

The electricity grid in Paraguay has 1.3 million customers and approx 32,000 km of distribution lines. Since 2009, it has been growing at 4% p.a.. The contract won in the international public bidding process, represents 10 % strengthening of ANDE’s current transforming capacity.
