NGK Insulators close Chinese transformer insulator-making unit

China: Japan’s NGK Insulators Ltd. announced Tuesday it has ceased to operate at a transformer insulator-making unit in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China.

China: Japan’s NGK Insulators Ltd. announced Tuesday it has ceased to operate at a transformer insulator-making unit in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China.

After the approval from the local authorities, the subsidiary, NGK Insulators Suzhou Co., is scheduled to be dissolved, reports The Japan News. NGK Insulators Suzhou Co. expects that the dissolution will only slightly affect its earnings for the March 2014, according to the parent company.

Expecting the growth in demand for power insulators in China, the company set up the Suzhou unit in 2006. However, the demand increase provoved to be marginal, while the competition strengthened.
