South Korea, Seoul: South Korean Hyosung Corp. said Monday that it has won a US $100 million deal to build a power transformer station in Algeria.

According to the contract with Algeria’s state-owned utility distributer Sonelgaz, Hyosung will construct a 400 kV transformer substation in the northern Marsat region, reports The Peninsula. The installation of the power transformer and the entire construction of the substation is scheduled for completion in 2016.

Hyosung said it has formed a consortium for the project with Samsung C and T Corp., a construction unit of Samsung Group. Hyosung had previously won a $ 80 million contract to build four 400 kV substations in Algeria’s eastern region of Hassi Messaoud in 2010.
