ABB supplies autotransformers to Novosibirsk HPP

Russia, Novosibirsk: ABB has supplied four autotransformers to Novosibirsk HPP within the long-term programme of technical upgrade of JSC RusGidro facilities.
RusHydro is one of ABB’s key customers. The company’s equipment has successfully operated at many other HPPs, reports i-mash.
Project to supply four 120 MVA autotransformers (including the backup) for Novosibirsk HPP continues from the cooperation started in 2009. Single-phase autotransformers AORDTST-120000/220 were delivered to the station from Poland. They weighted 242 tonnes and were shipped by ferry to St. Petersburg, then delivered to Novosibirsk HPP by rail and road.
The replacement of old transformers at Novosibirsk HPP will turn the station more eco-friendly – use of transformer oil will decrease by more than two times. In addition, the reliability of the Novosibirsk HPP and the utilities will significantly improve in the area.
The installation is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2014 .
