Argentina, Córdoba: Transener will expand the transformer station supplying Monte Cristo with 600 MVA transformation capacity.
Upgrade of the Malvinas Argentinas transformer station is worth $ 168 million and it will be funded by the Ministry of Federal Planning, reports La Mañana.
The extension involves incorporation of a new bank of 600 MVA transformers, including all operating equipment, metering, protection and control necessary for correct operation. The aim is to respond to sustained growth in demand for electricity in the province of Córdoba, mainly the northern area.
The processing capacity of the transformer station will be increased by 50 %, totaling 900 MVA transformation capacity. Transener expects commissioning of the expansion in the second half of 2015.
This work continues from the recently conducted addition of a 300 MVA three-phase transformer, also funded by the Ministry of Federal Planning.
