Turkmenistan discusses new projects with Schneider Electric

Turkmenistan: President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, met with the head of Schneider Electric, President of the Supervisory Board, Henri Lachmann and executive vice president, Frederic Abbal.

Abbal will now represent the Schneider Electric in Turkmenistan, after the two sides exchanged views on the prospects of partnership, reports Trend. President of Turkmenistan has expressed interest in the new joint projects to modernise the country’s energy and ensure reliable and uninterrupted power.  

Schneider Electric engaged in the Turkmen market  with modern electrical equipment and installation of power transformers and innovative technologies. Last year, a powerful 110 kV substation was constructed in the northern part of Ashgabat, equipped with Schneider Electric power transformers.

In September 2012, the government signed a major energy contract with Schneider Electric and Turkish Çalik Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., which will act as a subcontractor.
