Kazakhstan, Astana: Siemens Transformers delivered four TRDN-63000/110 power transformers for 110/20 kV substations Olympus and Aeroport.

The power transformers were supplied as part of the construction programme around the capital of Kazakhstan as Astana will host Expo 2017. Olimp and Aeroport will be put into operation this year and the entire project will be completed by autumn 2014, reports MNGZ.

This is a pilot project for Siemens Transformers with JSC Astana-REC. “Clearly, this is an important stage in the development of our company as the project will expand our cooperation and enable us to gain a foothold in the markets of Kazakhstan.” said the manager of the Siemens Transformers sales department, Aleksey Vetokhin.

Siemens Transformers also supplied three TRDN-63000/110 power transformers for JSC Moscow United Electric Grid, its long-term partner. The transformers will be installed at the 110 kV substations Almazovo and Fryazino within the framework of the comprehensive reconstruction of the power grid.
