Alstom wins contract to modernise Swiss hydropower plant

France, Levallois-Perret: Alstom has been awarded a contract to modernise Lontsch hydroelectric plant, located in Canton Glarus in central Switzerland.

France, Levallois-Perret: Alstom has been awarded a contract to modernise Lontsch hydroelectric plant, located in Canton Glarus in central Switzerland.

As part the contract, offered by Axpo Power, Alstom will replace voltage transformers, upgrade the exciters and discharges of Units 1 and 2 and install fully-insulated shockproof busbars for the discharges, according to Hydro World.

Christoph Orlmanns, head of sales and project management service for Switzerland and Germany thanked  Axpo Power as well as other companies which awarded contracts, for their renewed trust in Alstom. “This order endorses our strategy to support customers with full services and retrofit offerings to secure operational reliability and to optimise their asset management throughout the plants’ lifespan.” he added.
