USA, New York: Niagara Transformer Corp. is completing the first phase of a multi-step expansion in order to meet growing demand for products.

The expansion involves a 50,000 square-foot area that will help streamline manufacturing operations. The company has already moved all of its manufacturing and assembly work to the new area, reports Buffalo Business First.

President John Darby said that everything the company needs to make medium power and specialty transformers is 100 % up and running.

The second phase is expected to begin next summer, and it will involve a building as big as the first one with a 25,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing and design office. The upgrades will cost about $ 15 million.

Darby said that 30 % of the company’s business is international, and that they sell to 80 countries.
