Russia, Moscow: Experts of UES FGC  visited the production complex of the Holding Company Elektrozavod in Moscow and toured the production facilities, got familiarised with the process of manufacturing power equipment.

The visitors had an opportunity to see a full range of electrical products manufactured by the enterprises of Elektrozavod in Moscow, Ufa and Zaporozhye.

The highlight of the event was inspection of a single-phase gas-insulated power transformer prototype of 21 MVA, 220 kV, developed under the research and development programme of the Federal Grid Company.

Gas-insulated transformers are designed for installation in enclosed substations with high requirements for fire and explosion. Until now, such equipment was only produced by foreign companies, reports RusCable. The experts of FGC UES and Elektrozavod now have experience in the development and manufacture of gas-insulated power equipment that will allow Russia to continue to build gas-insulated equipment for application in both new and reconstructed power facilities in urban environments.

Following the visit, it was decided that gas-insulated transformer facilities and other transmission facilities will continue active cooperation and expand it in joint projects to improve energy efficiency and modernisation of electrical equipment.
