Russia, Moscow: MOESK branch Central Electric Networks started commissioning power equipment at the substation Chertanovo as part of the investment programme.

Reconstruction of the feeding centre was launched in 2008 and in the end of 2013, the programme was carried out to incorporate the new 220 kV GIS, reports Neftegaz. Total project cost is almost RUB 3.6 billion ($ 105 million).

During the reconstruction, two modern 250 MVA autotransformers have been installed. Four modern voltage regulating transformers of 63 MVA have also replaced the old 40 MVA ones. This increased the total capacity of the substation from 686 to 878 MVA.

“The result of the upgrade will be to increase capacity, reliability and security of the feeding centre.” said MOESK Deputy Director, P.Samylov.

220/110/10 kV substation Chertnovo provides electricity to many socially and economically significant sites in Moscow.
