ABB wins $22 million order in Bangladesh

Switzerland, Zurich: ABB has won an order for around BDT 172 crore ($22 million) from Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited (PGCB).

Switzerland, Zurich: ABB has won an order for around BDT 172 crore ($22 million) from Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited (PGCB).

According to the company’s press release, it will be providing four new turnkey substations and help expand six others in order to enhance transmission capacity and boost power supply, reports The Hindu.

ABB’s project includes design, supply, installation and commissioning of the substations. The company will supply power transformers, high and medium voltage switchgear, control and protection equipment and substation automation systems conforming to global IEC 61850 open communication standards.

The project is part of ongoing power systems expansion and efficiency improvement programme in Bangladesh, aimed at upgrading generation, transmission and distribution systems.
