The transformer is one of the two needed for the £600 million ($963 million) Beauly to Denny powerline. The power transformers have been manufactured in Porto, Portugal and taken to Scotland from Bristol docks.

The Beauly to Denny power line will transmit renewable energy from the Highlands to central Scotland via 600 newly-built towers, reports The Courier.

A specialist haulier has been employed to deliver the transformer to Braco.
