France, Île-de-France: A consortium consisting of Schneider Electric, Eiffage and Krinner has been awarded a contract for the construction of a 300 MW solar farm and an extra high voltage substation in Cestas.

The project is worth nearly EUR 285 million ($354 million) and  Schneider Electric is providing inverters and transformers, while Krinner is providing screw-in foundations and photovoltaic mounting structures.

Eiffage Travaux Publics will provide earth-moving work and Eiffage Energia will handle the interconnection, reports Solar Industry.

The farm is expected to generate over 350 GWh of electricity per year, which is projected to be equal to the daytime power consumption of the entire population of Bordeaux.
