The exact causes of damage are not yet established. Experts are currently estimating the amount of restoration work and damages, reports 24.
The independent expert Rasul Umbetaliyev said: “Due to the failure of the transformer, hydraulic unit stopped working, which should produce 300 MW. This will increase the water flow from the Toktogul reservoir. “
Transformer will be replaced as part of the reconstruction project of Toktogul in 2018-2020. The new power transformer will be supplied by Zaporozhtransformator.
