Argentina, Viedma: Transcomahue started a bidding process for procurement of power transformers in the Province of Río Negro to strengthen the substations of San Antonio Oeste, Río Colorado and Allen.

The total investment in the process is $5 million. The investment is based on the funds from the Convergence Programme of Electric Rates and Reaffirmation, signed by the governor Alberto Weretilneck.

It is estimated that the procurement will be awarded rapidly since the construction of the equipment will require almost a year.

According to the official estimates, the substation has two power transformers of 15 MW installed capacity and current demand is around 21 MW.

In San Antonio Oeste, the 15 MVA transformer will be replaced to cope with the increased demand, reports Rio Negro.
