Alstom T&D India wins $28M order to help harness solar energy

India, New Delhi: Alstom T&D India has secured a contract of $28 million from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RRVPNL) for provision of a 400/220 kV substation in Bhadla and expansion of the existing 400/220 kV substation in Bikaner in the state of Rajasthan.

 


India, New Delhi: Alstom T&D India has secured a contract of $28 million from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RRVPNL) for provision of a 400/220 kV substation in Bhadla and expansion of the existing 400/220 kV substation in Bikaner in the state of Rajasthan.

Within the Bikaner expansion project, Alstom T&D India will supply eight 400 kV bays, power transformers, circuit breakers, control and protection relays and substation automation system.

The contract further includes engineering, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of the Bhadla 400/220 kV substation, including twenty 400 kV bays and seventeen 220 kV bays.

The new substation in Bhadla will help harness energy from the Bhadla solar park and other upcoming solar parks in the area, while the expansion of the Bikaner substation is intended to facilitate the exchange of generated solar energy with the national grid.
