OETC agrees on $225M upgrade

Oman, Muscat: Oman Electricity Transmission Company has signed 6 agreements related to construction works on a new grid station, expansion of a number of existing plants, reinforcement of overhead transmission lines and consultancy services coming at a costs of about $225 million.

 


Oman, Muscat: Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) has signed 6 agreements related to construction works on a new grid station, expansion of a number of existing plants, reinforcement of overhead transmission lines and consultancy services coming at a costs of about $225 million.

The project will include construction of a new 220/132/33 kV grid station at Sohar Free Zone, building of 400 kV overhead transmission line between Izki and Misfah grid stations, upgrade of Misfah grid station to 400 kV and reinforcement of the current network in Muscat by 132 kV, reports Zawya.

As part of this comprehensive project, the fourth transformer of the capacity of 125 MVA will be added at Wadi Kabir grid station.The works of the projected cost of around $45.5 million will be carried out by Bahwan Engineering Company.
