Carranza substation inaugurated in Mexico

Mexico, Baja California: Following the Mexican government investment of $12.5 million into electric power infrastructure in Baja California, the eastern area of Mexicali has received a new substation in Carranza and an expansion of Carranza and Centennial power lines.

 


Mexico, Baja California: Following the Mexican government investment of $12.5 million into electric power infrastructure in Baja California, the eastern area of Mexicali has received a new substation in Carranza and an expansion of Carranza and Centennial power lines.

The substation built using anti-seismic technology to withstand earthquakes has six power supply circuits and a power transformer 40 MW and 161 kW capacitor bank, reports OEM.

According to Ulises Celaya Pino, the CFE (Federal Electricity Commission) divisional manager in Baja California, the new substation which will serve the population of 18,186 came at a cost of $4.7 million.
