Indian government invests into expansion of CPRI test facilities

India, Bangalore: Indian government has approved an investment of nearly $10 billion for expansion of High Current Short Circuit Test Facility as well as foundation of new test facilities in existing CPRI (Central Power Research Institute) laboratories at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwahati, Noida and Nagpur.

 


India, Bangalore: Indian government has approved an investment of nearly $10 billion for expansion of High Current Short Circuit Test Facility as well as foundation of new test facilities in existing CPRI (Central Power Research Institute) laboratories at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwahati, Noida and Nagpur.

Along with transformer oil test facility, other facilities included in the expansion project are short circuit test facilities, transmission tower test facility, switchgear testing & development facilities as well as establishment of new testing units, reports Business Standard.

Upon commissioning of the upgraded facilities, CPRI shall be able to test power transformers and switchgear in the class of 400 KV and above.
