ABB wins $40 million order from Sri Lanka

Zurich, Switzerland: ABB has won an order worth about $40 million from Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to supply new 220 kV substations and upgrade an existing substation in Sri Lanka.

 


Zurich, Switzerland: ABB has won an order worth about $40 million from Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to supply new 220 kV substations and upgrade an existing substation in Sri Lanka.

As part of the project, ABB will design, engineer, supply and commission new power transformers as well as other electrical equipment for the substations, including high-voltage air-insulated switchgear, medium-voltage indoor gas-insulated switchgear, IEC 61850-compliant protection and substation automation, and fibre-optic communications systems.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2017.
