Mexico, Guanajuato: Two generator step-up transformers 230 kV filled with Beta fire resistant fluid have been commissioned at the new Bajio thermoelectric power plant in Guanajuato, Mexico.

Beta Fluid fire resistant transformer oil, produced by DSI Ventures, has been installed in transformers 80 and 150 MVA, 230 kV built by Hyosung Nantong Transformer Company, reports TD World.

“Although the majority of Beta Fluid applications are distribution or small substation transformers, Beta Fluid can be used even at the highest voltage levels, with no changes in electrical or insulation design,” said Dr. David Sundin of DSI Ventures, Texas-based manufacturer of electrical insulating products and fire resistant oils.
