Escanaba largest transformer fails after power plant explosion
USA, Michigan: Following the explosion that occurred at Escanaba Power Plant last week, leaving only a few items at the substation undamaged, investigations are still underway.
USA, Michigan: Following the explosion that occurred at Escanaba Power Plant last week, leaving only a few items at the substation undamaged, investigations are still underway.
During the examination of electrical units, the number one power transformer, as well as a specialty transformer, both tested “good”, reports Upper Michigan’s Source.
However, Escanaba’s newer and largest power transformer has failed.
As the investigation goes on, the list of damaged equipment is expected to grow.
