New Cali substation to go online after transformer installation

Colombia, Cali: Emcali Energy, the state-owned electricity provider in Cali, has announced inauguration of the new Cali substation Alferez I in March this year, which will provide a more reliable power supply to several districts in the south of the city.

 


Colombia, Cali: Emcali Energy, the state-owned electricity provider in Cali, has announced inauguration of the new Cali substation Alferez I in March this year, which will provide a more reliable power supply to several districts in the south of the city.

As the Emcali manager announced, the substation should go online after a new power transformer is installed. The installation and testing of the transformer are expected to take place in the following days, reports El Pais.

Construction of Alferez I substation began in February 2014 with an investment of $16.5 million from Emcali. The infrastructure has a capacity of 60 MW and features environmentally friendly technologies.
