CG secures $19M transformer order from NTPC

India, Mumbai: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), India’s largest generation utility has awarded a $19 million contract to Avantha Group Company Crompton Greaves (CG) to build the largest rating GSU transformer in India.

 


India, Mumbai: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), India’s largest generation utility has awarded a $19 million contract to Avantha Group Company Crompton Greaves (CG) to build the largest rating GSU transformer in India.

The scope of the project includes the design, manufacturing and supply of generator step-up (GSU) transformers for NTPC’s largest capacity, 800 MW super-critical thermal power plant at Darlipali in Odisha, reports CG in press release.

The order comprises 315 MVA 765kV single-phase generator step-up transformers, 85 MVA 765 kV tie transformers and 80 Mvar shunt reactors.

The project is scheduled to be completed in thirty-two months.
