$17.2M Kissimmee substation reaching final construction stage

USA, Florida: Kissimmee Utility Authority has reached a construction milestone last week with the completion of the building which will house the new $17.2 million electric substation.

 


USA, Florida: Kissimmee Utility Authority has reached a construction milestone last week with the completion of the building which will house the new $17.2 million electric substation.

The new Roy E. Hansel Substation is a Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6) gas insulated design and it will house power transformers and supporting electrical equipment inside a building, while existing transmission lines and distribution feeders will enter the substation underground, states Kissimmee Utility Authority in press release.

The substation is the first of its kind in Osceola County, the second in Central Florida and the fourth in Florida.

It is scheduled to become operational in July 2015.
