Kyrgyzstan, Jalal-Abad: Kyrgyzstan Ministry of Energy and Industry has announced that the Toktogul Hydroelectric Station power transformer T2 is ready to be delivered to the plant.

The transformer will be delivered by Zaporozhye transformer factory (ZTR) and is expected to be installed and commissioned in May, reports Vecherniy Bishkek.

Toktogul Hydroelectric Station disconnected the existing 400 MVA transformer in November 2014 for safety reasons due to a failure of the aged equipment, which had been in use since 1974.

The replacement of the equipment is also a part of the Kyrgyz Energy Sector Rehabilitation Project Phase 2, financed by the Asian development Bank and the Eurasian Development Bank.
