Runruno Project in the Philippines receiving additional transformer

UK, London: Metals Exploration, the natural resources exploration and development company has announced that its Runruno Gold Project located in the province of Nueva Viscaya, the Philippines, is preparing to commission the process plant in June this year.

As part of the project, the Philippines National Grid (NGCP) has energised the 69 kV transmission line providing power from the Bayamon switchyard to the Runruno project site through a 40 MW power transformer, reports FE Investigate.

Currently, the NGCP is installing a 230 kV to 69 kV 75 MW power transformer at the Bayambong switchyard in addition to the 40 MW transformer, which is scheduled to be commissioned in May 2015 and ready for the commencement of commissioning in June 2015.

The Runruno site is located 200 miles north of Manila in the mineral rich province of Nueva Viscaya. The project will be a surface mine operation recovering gold and molybdenum.
