Bowers Electricals launches Ecodesign transformer line

UK, Derbyshire: British manufacturer of power transformers Bowers Electricals Ltd has announced a new line of Ecodesign transformers designed in accordance with the new harmonised transformer standards under EU legislation.
The new legislation (EU 548/2014) will come into force in July, when any transformer put into service will have to comply with strict minimum energy efficiency requirements, reports the Energyst.
The legislation is part of the EU’s 20-20-20 aim to achieve a 20% reduction in the consumption of primary energy by 2020 by reducing CO2 emissions, increasing the use of renewables and improving energy efficiency.
Bowers Electricals Ecodesign transformer range will be presented at a Birmingham exhibition in April.
