Canada, Toronto: Toronto Hydro crews have been addressing a number of power outages across the city which have affected about 25,000 customers from Etobicoke to North York and Scarborough neighbourhoods.

A combination of low temperatures, falling precipitation and ice weighing down wires caused transformer fires in 26 transformers across the city, reports The Star.

According to Toronto Hydro, the outages have been caused by both weather-related issues as well as transmission problems with Hydro One. Toronto Hydro had to call in extra crews to help restore the power.
