USA, Ohio: FirstEnergy Corp. is looking to invest about $120 million in 2015 on distribution and transmission infrastructure projects in Toledo Edison’s service area in northwest Ohio.

Major projects include the completion of a new transmission substation in the Perrysburg area, replacing power transformers and breakers, and continuing work on a new 345 kV transmission line, states FirstEnergy in the press release.

One of the projects includes replacement of a large transformer at a substation near Sylvania at an estimated cost of nearly $3 million.

Also, the company will add and replace step transformer banks on distribution circuits throughout the region, as well as other equipment to help reduce the number of outages and improve reliability.
