China’s Sinotec builds a major transformer station in Nigeria

Nigeria, Lagos: Chinese construction company Sinotec has completed a major power project in Nigeria which links the capital city and is expected to contribute immensely to the country's national grid.

 


Nigeria, Lagos: Chinese construction company Sinotec has completed a major power project in Nigeria which links the capital city and is expected to contribute immensely to the country’s national grid.

The project which included the construction of a new 330 kV substation with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, as well as 132 kV substation extension and building of 330 kV transmission line and 132 kV tubular poles was commissioned on Monday, reports Want China Times.

Designed to be one of the biggest substations in the West African country, the project, located in Gwagwalada city of Abuja, was completed within 14 months after the site work commenced, said Sinotec’s deputy managing director, Bu Songbo.
