CG manufactures transformer for new development in Ghana

Ghana, Accra: Appolonia - City of Light, the mixed-use urban development located in Greater Accra Metropolitan Area in Ghana has completed the Factory Acceptance Test for the installation of power substation equipment to provide electricity to the project and its residents.

 


Ghana, Accra: Appolonia – City of Light, the mixed-use urban development located in Greater Accra Metropolitan Area in Ghana has completed the Factory Acceptance Test for the installation of power substation equipment to provide electricity to the project and its residents.

The design, supply, installation and commissioning of the City of Light power infrastructure, including 33/11 kV substation equipment and a 20/26 MW power transformer was awarded to Best & Crompton Engineering of India, reports Spy Ghana.

The power transformer, manufactured in India by Crompton Greaves Limited, was designed in collaboration with Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

“The delivery of the power substation equipment is a significant milestone in the development of Appolonia – City of Light,” said Director of Appolonia Development Company Limited. “Our recently launched residential phase, Nova Ridge, will be the first beneficiary of this infrastructure investment.”

The substation will be commissioned in the coming months, with full power supply expected by the end of the year.
