One of the oldest Tatarstan substations to receive major revamp

Russia, Tatarstan: One of the oldest substations in the Tatarstan capital Kazan, 110 kV Substation South, is undergoing a major reconstruction in order to replace the aged equipment with modern, more reliable and sophisticated electrical equipment.

 


Russia, Tatarstan: One of the oldest substations in the Tatarstan capital Kazan, 110 kV Substation South, is undergoing a major reconstruction in order to replace the aged electrical equipment with modern, more reliable and sophisticated equipment.

As part of the reconstruction project, two 40 MVA power transformers will be replaced with the new and modern equipment of the same voltage, reports RusCable.

Originally built in 1958, the substation will also receive new indoor switchgear and the control room.

The upgraded substation will fully comply with the highest fire protection, environmental and technological requirements, and will be safe for both staff and the environment.
