Venezuela, Caracas: The Venezuelan government plans to invest nearly $18 million in a joint programme with about 60 private enterprises to strengthen the processes of electricity distribution and transmission.

The initiative will allow the private entities to increase their workforce by more than 50 per cent, thus supporting them on their way to mass production of power transformers and electrical components, reports Prensa Latina.

The initial phase of this joint programme includes import of raw materials, with plans to soon be able to manufacture from scratch components for the assembly of equipment.

The operational stage includes the provision of engineering solutions to improve the design of power transformers and streamline the process of electricity distribution.
