TBEA and Chint Electric awarded transformer contracts in Zambia

Zambia, Lusaka: Chinese transformer manufacturers TBEA Company Limited and Chint Electric Company have been contracted by Zambia’s largest power company ZESCO to supply power transformers and shunt reactors for three substation upgrade projects.

 


Zambia, Lusaka: Chinese transformer manufacturers TBEA Company Limited and Chint Electric Company have been contracted by Zambia’s largest power company ZESCO to supply power transformers and shunt reactors for three substation upgrade projects.

TBEA has been engaged for the supply of two 330/132 kV power transformers and shunt reactors for the upgrade of Muzuma and Kafue Town substations from 220 kV to 330 kV, as part of the upgrade project which ZESCO awarded to Alstom Grid France, reports Daily Mail.

Chint Electric Company will be responsible for the supply of 330/220 kV power transformers and shunt reactor for the construction of the new 330/220 kV substation in Livingstone, as part of Consolidated Power projects of South Africa.

345 kilometres of 220 kV power line will be upgraded to 330 kV by Babcock Powerlines of South Africa.
