1,900 litres of transformer oil leaks in New London, CT

USA, Connecticut: 1,900 litres of mineral oil has been reported to have leaked from a mobile transformer at an Eversource substation in a seaport city of New London in Connecticut.

 


USA, Connecticut: 1,900 litres of mineral oil has been reported to have leaked from a mobile transformer at an Eversource substation in a seaport city of New London in Connecticut.

The mineral oil escaped from a leak in a hose from the transformer, which held a total of 12,300 litres of oil, reports NBC Connecticut.

Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) responded to the incident to clean up the mineral oil leak and remove the impacted rock and soil, said Dennis Schain of DEEP.
