Kenya Power invests $32.5 million in substations upgrades

Kenya, Nairobi: Kenya Power has signed contracts worth $32.5 million with local companies to implement 12 substation upgrade projects in the country.

 


Kenya, Nairobi: Kenya Power has signed contracts worth $32.5 million with local companies to implement 12 substation upgrade projects in the country.

Under the scope of the projects, Kenya Power will supply power transformers and other major electrical equipment, while the contractors will provide auxiliary equipment and engineering designs, and construct, test and commission the substations, reports All Africa.

The substations included in the project are located in Nairobi, Mombasa, Machakos, Nakuru, Thika, Eldama Ravine and Naivasha.

The projects will be entirely funded using the Kenya Power’s internally generated funds.
