Russia, Yekaterinburg: Yekaterinburg Electric Grid Company (EESK) has successfully completed the testing of an autotransformer with the automatic fire extinguishing system at the 220/110/10 kV substation Iskra.

The company has successfully installed the fire extinguishing equipment which is automatically activated in case of fire threat or fire-related damage to the internal transformers, the company states in the press release.

The testing procedure that took five days confirmed the full and efficient performance of the installed fire-fighting equipment in the event of any threat of fire, including a short circuit, which can also provoke it.

EESK will perform a routine test on similar equipment at the Rowan substation in autumn 2015.
