ZTR manufactures new type of shunt reactor for ABB Poland

Ukraine, Zaporozhye: Zaporozhtransformator (ZTR) has signed a new contract with АВВ Poland for the supply of a unique three-phase controlled shunt reactor 67/28.9 MVAr, 110 kV, equipped with an on-load tap changer.

 

Ukraine, Zaporozhye: Zaporozhtransformator (ZTR) has signed a contract with АВВ Poland for the supply of a unique three-phase controlled shunt reactor 67/28.9 MVAr, 110 kV, equipped with an on-load tap changer.

The reactor is intended for compensation of reactive power at the wind farm Lotnisko in Poland.

According to ZTR, this will be the first controlled shunt reactor developed in CIS countries which uses a mechanical tap changer rather than a thyristor control unit.

New reactors with mechanical tap changers can be used in electric circuits with scheduled (seasonal, daily) load variations.

Equipment will be manufactured and dispatched by September 2015.
