EIB grants €85M for Guinea-Senegal interconnection project

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is to shortly grant a loan worth €85 million to fund a project of building an interconnection between Guinea and Senegal.

 


The European Investment Bank (EIB) is to shortly grant a loan worth €85 million to fund a project of building an interconnection between Guinea and Senegal.

As part of OMVG Interconnection Project, the EIB loan will be used to build 10 high/medium voltage transformer stations and 930 km of 225 kV power lines connecting the two countries, reports African Intelliegence.

The OMVG (Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Gambia and Guinea-Conakry) Interconnection Project is already financially supported by the World Bank and is set to cost €346 million.
