$10.6M deal signed for Liberian water treatment plant upgrade project

Liberia, Monrovia: The Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) and a Chinese construction company Chongqing International Construction Corporation (CICO) have signed a $10.6 million contract for the rehabilitation of the White Plains Water Treatment Plant 21 km transmission line, which runs from White Plains to Red-Light in Paynesville in Monrovia, Liberian capital.

 


Liberia, Monrovia: The Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) and a Chinese construction company Chongqing International Construction Corporation (CICO) have signed a $10.6 million contract for the rehabilitation of the White Plains Water Treatment Plant 21 km transmission line, which runs from White Plains to Red-Light in Paynesville in Monrovia, Liberian capital.

Among other works, the contract covers the replacement of electrical system and equipment, including installation of a new power transformer, as well as provision of power generating equipment and facilities and construction of new generator building, reports All Africa.

The main works under the contract include the replacement of pumping equipment.

The project is being funded by a grant from the African Development Fund through the African Development Bank and African Water Facility.
