MOESK installs two new transformers at Central Moscow substation

Russia, Moscow: Moscow United Electric Grid Company (MOESK) has commenced works on the next stage of the reconstruction of the 220/110 kV Moscow Central substation, which includes replacement of two 110 kV transformers with new 220/10/6 kV transformers.

 


Russia, Moscow: Moscow United Electric Grid Company (MOESK) has commenced works on the next stage of the reconstruction of the 220/110 kV Moscow Central substation, which includes replacement of two 110 kV transformers with new 220/10/6 kV transformers. 

The installation of the new T-1 transformer of 80 MVA capacity is expected to be completed by September, reports Elec.ru.

Once T-1 has been replaced, the company will start assembling another power transformer of similar capacity to replace T-2. With both transformers replaced, the substation capacity will increase by 30%.

MOESK is investing over $25 million into the renovation project, which is expected to be finalized in 2016.
