Georgia begins construction of €13M Khorga substation
Georgia, Tbilisi: Georgia’s Ministry of Energy has officially launched the construction of the €13 million Khorga substation in Khobi Municipality, Akhalsopeli village in western Georgia.
Georgia, Tbilisi: Georgia’s Ministry of Energy has officially launched the construction of the €13 million Khorga substation in Khobi Municipality, Akhalsopeli village in western Georgia.
The 220/110 kV substation with power transformers and associated electrical equipment will be built by Siemens. The project is supported by the Asian Development Bank and scheduled to be completed by 2016, reports Agenda.
Once operating the new substation will produce a reliable and uninterrupted energy supply for locals.
“The substation will also enable us to export electrical energy to Turkey,” said Georgia’s Minister of Energy.
